If you are in Bologna don’t waste the opportunity to visit FICO Eataly World. How to describe this place? It is a huge 25 acres park composed by the best of what Italy has to offer in terms of food. Miniature farms and dairy factories, grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, wine shops, bakeries, craft brewery, etc. Some people dubbed as the “Disneyland of Food”- something I don’t agree with as I never had a good meal in any one of those thematic parks.
Some of iconic symbols of the rich Italian cuisine are obviously present under this one giant roof like grana-padano, parmigiano-reggiano, aceto balsamico, mortadela, prosciutto, salumi, pasta, gelato, coffee, lasagne, and Neapolitan pizza!
As it is virtually impossible not get out of FICO (Fabrica Italiana Contadina / Italian Farming Factory) without carrying at least two or three bags of products, you can rent cargo bikes at the main entrance. Don’t forget to get a map as well so that you can easily navigate the entire complex.
Via Paolo Canali 8, Bologna, Italy Hours: Thursday-Sunday 11am-11pm https://www.eatalyworld.it/it
